    Hi everyone,

I just got my Aspire One A150 with Windows XP 160gb. I tried different OS on it (Vista, Linux) and totally forgot to backup using eRecovery. And I also deleted the 4GB Recovery partition. Does anyone have the back up for this netbook uploaded somewhere so I can download? Acer website wants $40 for the Recovery DVD which is excessive IMO.

I think of buying another one, back it up then return it. Please stop me from doing this evil act. ;)

    Thanks

If you restore from somebody elses recovery disk, won't it then have their product activation code on it? Then, when it reported back to Microsoft that 2 different pc's are using the same code, wouldn't Microsoft then deactivate that code next time the WGA tool was updated? I think you should pay the $40.

    No.
The recovery disks are identical. They do not have unique activation codes.

really? So you have to put your product key in manually for XP? I have only had Vista on my Acer laptop and when i did a system recovery it did not ask me to do it.

I went over to the AspireOneUser forum and there is no easy way to create a Recovery disc for Aspire One at all. I'll call Acer tomorrow and ask for a free set like many others did.
