I have a somewhat weird problem.
I recently got comcast and installed a new linksys router. My Win7 computer works perfect, but my dad's Acer One has very crappy connection or no connection at all. Both laptops are connected to the same router.
What helps is doing the "ipconfig /release", "ipconfig /renew", but not for long.
What could this be? Any help?

Make sure that Wi-Fi drivers are up to date and that power management settings for Wi-Fi card are set to no power saving/max performance (in Windows power profile)

Well how exactly are you connecting to the router? Via Ethernet or Wireless? If you're using generic windows drivers and not the official manufacturer drivers you could have problems.

You might have to supply some more information.

I'm connecting wirelessly and this laptop used to work great with my old trendnet router, but the poor thing burnt out after 4 years of service lol
I will update the drivers, but I don't see why that would be a problem as the network card worked fine before.
Could there be some kind of incompatibility between the router and the network card? The router is b/g and not N, so should work fine.
