I'm thinking about getting the Linux version, but the review on this site mentions the loud fan noise, which alone could sway me away from this. But the review was for the XP HDD version. Is there loud fan noise for the SSD Linux version too? I read an amazon.com review and it said it was quiet but I would like some more responses. Thanks

Yes, it's there for the linux version, and it seems to vary a bit with sample too, so you may get one that is less noisy than other's.

There are scripts for linux which can lower the fan noise and what not.

I personally would recommend you go with an HDD version if you're not against opening up the system and installing your own SSD later on, the 2.5" SSD's will work with the HDD version but not with the SSD AAO.
