Amazon has a book reader which I think is $400 but I have heard it's not worth the bucks.

I tested the AAOne at Staples and it IS widescreen so I don't know how a book would look on it. Might work. Stop in at any of the electronic stores, they probably all have a test model. For that matter, you can go online and download a short book and try it out right there. I had no one waiting to see the AAOne and no sales person came around. This was at Staples where they do not make commissions on sales and only try to help. I went online and checked my email and bank account, all looked great. No problem at all. I haven't received my order yet but I expect it to arrive on Tuesday. I'll download an E Book and see what happens and let you know. If you don't hear from me, send me an email to remind me.

Amazon's book reader is called the Kindle, my family has 2 and we Love them. It doesn't have a color or backlit screen though. I have used my Aspire on in portrait mode and it worked just fine. I think it would be an excellent choice.
