When I start-up or resume from sleep my AAO often makes an extremely loud noise like the fan is trying to run but is having trouble. It almost sounds like it is revving up. It will do it two or three times then stop. It usually doesn't do it during normal use--only when I'm trying to start-up or resume. Any ideas?

How long have u had the laptop for is the first question. Sounds alot like the fan is blocked to me, take a hover to the side of ur laptop where the fan is and just give it a lil hoover lol if its clogged due to dust etc. then ur fan shouldnt have any problems starting up, if it still persists after that. come back and let me know!

I've had it since October. What's this "hover" you speak of?

Can of compressed air. The best method for cleaning a laptop is to disassemble it, but with the procedure being more complicated with the One, I would not recommend it if you are uncomfortable handling TINY screws. Other than the screws, it is really not that difficult. Just tedious.

Make sure you use a piece of dry cloth.
