hey people
Im very new to this but im clued in about computers.. or to some extent i think i am!
I bought an Acer Aspire one, it is perfect, it works perfectly when connecting to the internet if i have the power supply plugged in.
I take the power supply out and the screen dims.... no internet, or the internet i have is working, non working.....
I have tried the settings, i have tried redoing the wireless connection... its just not happening! Im close to taking it back to the shop as i have only had it three weeks!
Thanks

Have you had a look at the power settings, it might be that when you unplug the power, or your battery gets to low charge and it switches your wireless off. My laptop dims when the battery gets to a certain level.

I read somewhere that you need to turn OFF the MAXIMUM POWER Setting and that should work. can't remember where - I think Amazon user review.

yes ive looked at the power settings and changed it as per reviews still doesnt work and the battery is full 100% and it dims which you cant change unlike other laptops and then the wireless comes on and off, i have tried rebooting it, i have tried turning the wireless off and on and i have even tried a reconnection to the wireless!
Im at a complete stuck, i wonder if it is a fault with my laptop alone as i have seen no one else have the same problem?! Might ask for an exchange and if it still doesnt work buy a different one! I hate technology! thanks for your help though. -
did you do FN + right arrow key when it dims?
As for the disconnects, did you try a newer driver? Windows update has a .260 driver, I believe Acer may have shipped it with an older driver (.224?). -
i didnt but i will try that as soon as i get in as for new driver, not a clue what you are talking about however the laptop is 3 weeks old, im not purchasing or messing about with it, i expect to buy something and for it to work.... esp when they say wireless....... BUT you have to keep the power supply plugged in.... go figure!
Thanks for the help.
