Hi, my netbook is a few months over a year old. Wouldn't you know after the warranty is gone, it gets dumb?
    --
Well, it takes over 20+ "blue bars" on the "Windows XP" loading screen to boot to this black screen - which it stays on for a minute or two.
Then, it takes about 10 minutes - 15 (no joke) to get from my screensaver/background to firefox. What is going on?
To top it off, my netbook's speakers crackle. I've tried EVERYTHING. Installed- and re-installed all new drivers from Realtek, unistalled it, then reinstalled it. Same thing. I cannot send my computer back to Acer - since the warranty is out, and they don't seem to help unless you're under warranty. Any advice, please? It also takes forever to shut down. I had 15 or so trojans quarantined in MacAfee - but I don't think they would be a problem. It had the "Blue screen of death" before, and crashed twice - within a day or two. I've had so many problems with this laptop, I doubt I'll buy another acer!

    Acer Aspire AOA-150
    Windows XP SP3

If you have quarantined viruses... it's almost a certainty that you are already infected with one or more virus/trojan. Do a clean install of XP to give your A150 a fresh start. Nothing's wrong with your netbook.... Cheers.

Agree. Everything you mention is most likely to be software. Do a complete system restore and see what you have then.
(Back up photos, music, videos, books, recipies, codes, emails, licenses etc etc beforehand and have any applications to reinstall to hand)

(You can charge yourself a bunch of money and wait 7 days if you want the full 'in warranty experience' :) )

And stop going to whatever websites are dropping the trojans !
