    hello,

    have found a,

    3820TG
    i5 460M
    2GB
    500GB
    ATi 5650

    for US$625.

is it better to wait for something newer, or at this price is it a good deal?

    cheers

If the unit is new with a full year warranty, it is not a bad deal. There is a better version of the 3820TG (I5-480M - HD 6550) and that would be a better deal for that price. But, the 3820TG is, IMO, better than its replacement, the 3830TG and I don't know if you will find anything as small and light that iscompetitive at that price in the US ATM. I use my 3820TG everyday and it holds up well. I like it so much that I purchased an extended warranty for it. Nothing on the market has a cooling system as good as the Acer.

With the new AMD CPU'S you can get larger units at the same price (A6, A4, etc.) but they are larger and heavier units. Hope this helps.

    cheers for the reply.

i went out today to buy it, and they sold the last one yesterday, argh....

i managed to find the last 3820TG, it has a smaller i5, 4GB RAM, but the 5470, for US$512. (1yr warranty)

honestly, for what i need, im happy with this, its the jump that i was looking for.....

    cheers
