My Aspire V7-482P can't boot and keeps showing me a screen that says

"Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed.
Insert Recovery Media and Hit any key
Then Select 'Boot Manager' to choose a new Boot Device or to Boot Recovery Media'

When I check the BIOS, the hard drive is missing (HDD0 is displayed as 'None', and HDD1 shows the Kingston SSD used for caching).

I'm not sure what's wrong, from some suggestions I found online I tried changing the boot mode to from UEFI to Legacy and back but that didn't do anything.

Did the hard drive go bad? Or is this a software problem that can be fixed?

Or could it be a connection went loose inside the laptop? I'm hesitant to take it apart to check because I don't know if doing so will void the warranty.

It does look like the HD is dead. I don't know how easy is to get it out of this particular laptop but that is what I would do and then I'd try to connect it to a degree fervent laptop or through a USB - SATA bridge to a desktop to verify that it is indeed dead.
