    Aspire Vista to XP

    I have an Acer Aspire 5100 with Vista. I purchased it of my wife. However, as I hate Vista and its over use of resources, I want to replace Vista with XP. Has anyone successfully done this?

    I have heard that some notebooks do not convert easily from Vista to XP..

    As long as you have the XP Drivers for the Aspire 5100 you should not run into any problems. If the Acer support site do not have XP drivers, google for it :)

    You can certainly put XP onto your 5100 series notebook as before they used to have XP on them before vista launched (like mine :) ). Anyway you can find all the XP drivers and bios updates you will need at the acer euro site for the 5100 series located here

    I put XP on my lowly 3680 and it runs like a dream. I began with a dual boot setup just to make sure XP was all working and I haven't looked back to Vista since.
