    Hello everyone,

Recently I bought an Acer Aspire 7720G notebook. So far it runs smoothly, but there's one issure I haven't been able to resolve.

After setting the notebook to stand-by mode, it hibernates automatically after a while. Altering the power-settings haven't resolved the issure and neither has browsing through the BIOS settings, which doesn't include power-options at all.

Now, is there a way around this? I truly prefer putting the notebook to stand-by.

I may add it's running on normal power. Batterypower is used once in a while (and I do remember to run the battery down at least once per month).

    Hope some can help.

Hmm that's odd. I can set my notebook to hibernate after a certain amount of time (standby or otherwise) and it does so, or I can turn it off and it won't.

Looking like you're on Vista from the SS...I do know that the power settings for each profile are different. So you may have to go into power saver, balanced and high performance one at a time, go edit the plan in advanced, and then under the sleep section modify the hibernate values.

If that doesn't work I'm at a loss though :\

Okay, thanks Ackeron. I'll give it a shot, but if memory serves, I've already tried this.

I've been thinking if it could be the result of some policy settings...

    Thanks again!

    Further suggestions are welcome!
