I have an Aspire 3502WLCI.It will not power up.I tried to power up using battery only,ac only, and battery power and ac.When I push the power button the power light comes on and goes back off. Before this, the machine would shut down without warning. It would just die like pulling the power cord on a desk top. What could cause this?

The computer will not do anything but flash the power light.

This is what I was thinking but hoping it maybe a simple replaceable hardware failure.

    Hi there.
Could it be a Bios issue by any chance??

I have posted a "how to " on flashing the bios without any display.

I may well be a dodgy battery, thinking about it. :p The most likely answer.
When a battery becomes faulty, windows sometimes has difficult in understanding and detecting the batteries status, which can lead to all sorts of issues.

Try booting without the battery installed and just the power cable plugged in.
If it works fine, you need to buy a new battery.
If not, look into updating your bios.

Edit: Forgot to add the link to it: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=242740

    Hope this helps.
    Keep us posted. :D

The computer will not power on.BIOS has never been tampered with.I replaced the battery last year.It will not power up.I tried powering it up with the battery and on ac without the battery in the pc.Still get nothing.I tried swapping memory from another computer that uses the same memory. No dice.I think there is a short or crack in the mobo. When the power button is pushed, the power light flashes, and it doesn't power up.I've taken it apart, cleaned all the contacts, checked everything that I could.BTW,I did this with the battery out and the power disconnected.I am at a loss on this thing.
