Hi guys, I'm trying to upgrade an old laptop from a 9300GS 256Mb to a GT240M 1Gb MXMII
I have bought a card of ebay which listed itself as compatible. It fits correctly, (I swapped the bracket from the 9300 to the GT240 but the laptop doesn't post.

    Card Specifics below.

Asus Part No: 60-NW2VG1000-A01 M90GN MXM Card
    GPU: nVIDIA Geforce GT 240M 1GB DDR3. N10P-GS-A2

It appears to have an eeprom on the board. Is there anything I can do to get this card usable? or should I return it?

I am also in same boat. Upgrading at OLD HP Touchsmart AIO.

Which machine are you trying to upgrade. Make/Model ??
How are you establishing the compatibility, just by product site description or other websites ?

@beegmouse post your card's hardware ids from device manager, I'll modify the drivers for you. Don't forget to tag me in your post, I'm rare in this subforum.
