I believe the video card on that notebook is soldered to the motherboard so you will most likely have to get a new laptop. How do you know the video card has gone?
-
well the picture quality has gone right down and theres like lines accross the screen and the colour seems distorted it still work but its not crystal clear, when i start the laptop only half the screen lights up at first and i take its to do with the graphics card?
-
maybe its the screen which has gone?
Plug onto an extrenal monitor and see if it work? -
well the screen hasnt gone because i can still use it, its just if powered on for a bit lines appear, and the true colour in the pictures and that arent there, ill plug into external monitor and see what happens.
-
well i have just tried it and its the same, could it be the graphics card? or could it be something else?
-
when i boot up the laptop , once loaded it sais found new hardware and it sais video controller (vga compatible) could it be anything to do with that?
-
reinstall driver?
-
always check for a software fix before you drop some cash on a replacement.
Go install VMware server - http://www.vmware.com/ It's free after registration.
Also use a 3rd party monitor to rule out a bad LCD monitor on your ferrari.
If you reinstall windows with no problems and it looks FINE then it's software not hardware.
This way you can keep your current windows install and not worry about loosing anything.
