I believe the video card on that notebook is soldered to the motherboard so you will most likely have to get a new laptop. How do you know the video card has gone?

well the picture quality has gone right down and theres like lines accross the screen and the colour seems distorted it still work but its not crystal clear, when i start the laptop only half the screen lights up at first and i take its to do with the graphics card?

always check for a software fix before you drop some cash on a replacement.

Go install VMware server - http://www.vmware.com/ It's free after registration.

Also use a 3rd party monitor to rule out a bad LCD monitor on your ferrari.

If you reinstall windows with no problems and it looks FINE then it's software not hardware.

This way you can keep your current windows install and not worry about loosing anything.
