Does Acer release new drivers for graphics cards or do they just release a one off set? I have an Aspire 3020 with the x700 and the drivers on the 3020 section of acer.com never get updated. I know some newer laptops have this card and seem to have different drivers so does anyone know what the latest drivers from Acer for this card are. I ask this because the offical ATI catalyst mobility drivers haven't worked on my card since 6.4 (there is a problem with resolution change which mucks up the screen which quite a few people have with this card), the latest Omega driver have the same problem, and I want more up to date drivers!

go try the omega drivers that can be found over on http://www.omegadrivers.net
I use em and they work out greatThey kick @ss.

They do release new drivers, however you have to search through the FTP support site to find them. Look for entries that are recent and search the directory to find ati drivers. Though I was not able to get them to work on my X1300, ended up installing the new official 6.8s, which actually worked.

Hi Jawa, i have the same problem with Catalyst drivers above 6.4, I have an Acer Aspire 5021 with ATi x700 graphics card.
I hope someone will find a workaround or a solution for this problem, I am tired not to be able to switch between resolutions on my screen after installing the NEW Catalyst drivers. -
I have exactly the same problem with my Acer Aspire 5024WLMi, when I try to install ANY newer driver than 6.4.
It is really annoying, and I am surprised that nobody has come up with a solution yet....
And by the way, there is a relatively quick way to get past the issue without actually having to restart your system:
When the problem occurs, click the "windows" button on your keyboard, so that the Start menu opens. Then blindly, try to find the "Turn Off" computer option from the start menu (I access it just by pressing the UP Arrow button once on my pc). At the menu that appears, select the left option with the Left Arrow: "Standby".
After if logs off, Wake Up your PC pressing the Enter key. Problem solved.
Note: You have to do this EVERY time the display goes corrupt...
Hope I helped a bit. -
Did you try this ?

Yes the mobility mod tool is what notebook users have been using to mod the desktop drivers from ATI so that they work on notebooks. There is nothing nasty in the software it is "clean as a whistle"
. Just know that modding the driver will mean that it loses it's windows driver signing meaning that it will become an unsigned driver in the eyes of windows.

Thought i'd mention that since loading on the ATI drivers, I've been getting entries in my Error Log showing something about "graphics over-utilization". Might roll back.
