"Upgrading" the BIOS for no reason is the sure sign of a semi-newbie. There is never anything to be gained from "upgrading" a BIOS on a computer unless the original one it came with was found to have an actual problem that was later corrected specifically for your computer. It's a total, absolute waste of time.

wow that really helped starling way to go buddy... ok now i need a real answer from somebody that would know anything about bios as bios update are made for a reason like the update from 3219 to 3224 that fixed bugs that prevented the fan from turning on at 50 degrees u see buddy they are made for a reason i actually found out from another forum that the bios update i need is the 3236 made to fix some bugs related to vista OS and not the 3239 that even thou its the latest realease is actually a euro update for the WINXP version of the lappy so next time you wanna call somebody a newbie make sure you know what you talking about; a bios update like you said its made to correct a problem found on the specific computer model or motherboard of different models not to waste time for company like phoenix waste time its waste of money

Check the release notes if any - they should clue you in to any major updates.

from what i can see, the 3234 version has 2 programs to flash. 1 for windows and one a dos based program.

The second one only gives you the program to flash in windows, maybe that is the reason they say windows vista.

If i'm wrong i'm sure someone will correct me :D
