I just got the 3G version of the Netbook with the 3 cell battery. I'm only getting a bit over 2 hour of battery life with 3G off, my wireless connection on, the screen brightness about half way, and the only program open is Firefox. For example, right now I have 90% capacity and it's showing 1:55. Is this the normal battery life. I know the specs say up to 3 hours, but I never believe in those, and I just want to make sure mine is about right.

I was thinking of getting the 6 cell battery, but I don't want to make the netbook any bulkier than it is (I'll be carrying it back and forth in my work commute).

    Any thoughts?

    That's normal.
Get the 6 cell if you want longer battery life. It's more than double (5200mah) than the 3 cell (2200mah).
IMO, it's better to carry the 6 cell than the adapter.

Thanks. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the 6 cell looks pretty bulky, while the 3 cell is flush with the back of the netbook. How bulky is the 6 cell (how much does it "stick out" from the bottom of the netbook)?

The 6-cell is bulkier and it adds about an inch or 1.5" to the length of the notebook. It extends out the back and only slightly curves down.

it also raises the back slightly so the netbook is tilted a bit, and reduces the amount the screen can tilt back though not so much that you can't use it on your lap.

The 6 cell is ugly and bulky, but overall carrying around my 6 Cell One is still a joy and not ever worrying about battery life makes it all worth not looking as cool or hip.

Have any of you tried the 9 cell battery? The cost is about the same ($10 difference), but I'm not sure how much bulkier the 9 cell is. Anyone have any views on the 9 cell vs. the 6 cell?

it's quite large, and raises the netbook higher. No direct shots of 6 vs 9 cell.

Here is a thread from another forum with a picture of the 9 cell attached.
