    First, Hello to all

I have done a complete system restore using the Acer recovery program of a friends Acer Aspire 5000 laptop with 4 user accounts and everything is OK until i insert the battery power pack, (i had it running on ac power without the battery).
As soon as the laptop is started the laptop keeps locking and the touch pad won't work, if i connect a usb mouse the mouse works OK, but the laptop still keeps locking.

When I remove the battery pack the laptop works OK, is this a faulty power pack as i have never come across this before.

The battery pack is fully charged

I am having the same problem

Whenever the battery is in, the laptop locks up soon after booting.
If the battery is out, it works, but turns itself off randomly.

    The battery is
    Panasonic
    CGR-B/8B5AE

    The laptop is
    Acer Aspire 5000
    5002 WLMI
    Manufactured 2005/09

So what did you end up doing?
Did a new battery solve the problem?
