Last night I was using my Aspire Timeline 581TZ-4657 laptop. Without warning my laptop shut off. Even though the AC was supposedly plugged in according to Windows 7. Upon further discovery it turns I didnt plugged in my AC power all the way in the laptop. In reality my laptop was running on battery, Windows 7 said it was charging and running AC power.

Now my laptop wont run on battery anymore. It doesnt turn on or even charge on battery mode. When I use the AC power cord Windows 7 says the battery is "90% available (plugged in, not charging)"

The Acer laptop also displays a blue light. The blue light indicates the battery is fully charged.

I've tried: Removing the battery and placing it back in, Uninstalling and reinstalling "Microsoft
    ACPI-Compliant Control Method battery"

    Im out of ideas??

Did you try booting without battery then shut-down then put battery back and boot again with battery in? Also is the battery light on when laptop is shut-down and plugged in? May be you could try leaving laptop plugged in when shut down for few hours...

I had similar issue: It was showing that battery is in but it didn`t detect battery capacity with message 0% full, plugged in not charging...

And I tried with combinations above and somehow it worked - really don`t know which step made it work...

    Hope it will help...

    Cheers

When I shut off the laptop with the AC Plugged in it displays a blue light meaning its fully charged.

Booting and Shutting down without the battery did nothing as well. :(

Then definitely your battery is dead and you should replace it...
But before you do replace it, I would advise you to check battery capacity by using HWMonitor. At the bottom you will see following: Designed capacity and last charge capacity. If the later is much much lower than the first one then your battery has reached is "funeral"...

    P.S. Sorry for late response...

    Cheers
