I'm a new member to these forums, but I have browsed them and the site extensively. I'd appreciate any help.

After a PartitionMagic screwed up a merger and I was forced to do a clean install of XP Pro, I've come accross two problems that I just cannot fix.

    1. Acer Orbicam - Every time I activate the camera using either the OrbiCam program or MSN Messenger I am told that the camera is in use by another program. The light on the camera is never on, though. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and all that, but have had no luck. Occasionaly, if I start the OrbiCam program right after turning on the computer, it'll give me a "Switch To..." option. This, for some reason, opens up the Start Menu. Any ideas?

    2. Battery - This issue baffles me. Windows XP, Acer ePower, and other programs always think that the computer is plugged in. The PerfStats program for Trillian thinks I don't have a battery. Curiously, though, Acer ePower could measure the charge remaining in the battery(but then I removed it, since it caused my CPU to always be at 50%.) RMClock can also see how much charge is left, and estimate how much time I have left, but it can't detect that I'm not plugged in, either. This issue is very confusing, but any suggestions would be appreciated.
