Can anyone tell me if the Acer battery part # LC.BPT03.003 is the eight cell or the 4 cell unit? I am purchasing the laptop soon and did not want to make a mistake on the battery.

    Thanks Greg

According to Ziptar's reply to this thread:

    http://www.notebookreview.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7127

The battery part # you listed in your post is the 8 cell battery that comes standard on the 4501 which is also compatible with the 1681 LT according to the site that Ziptar posted in his reply. Hopefully that answers your question and when I get my 1681 this weekend I'll be getting the same battery too for longer unplugged life.
