I would like to get another battery for my 1694 (same batt as the 1690) I've got 2 part numbers cgr-b/8b5ae (panasonic) & 4ur18650f-2-qc140 Sanyo. Can't find any on ebay. I would like a 12 cell if they exist. Can someone tell me what the compatible part number is for these laptops?

    Thanks.

    Danbrow,

Here's Acer Canada's PDF of all available upgrade parts for the Aspire notebooks.

    http://www.acer.ca/acerpanam/wr-res...3/1/Canada Aspire Ferrari upgrades 6-8-05.pdf

The numbers you listed may be the manufacturers part# info, not Acer's. According to the list in the above link, the P/N for the 1690 battery is LC.BTP03.003. This is the type of part numbering scheme you should be looking for. I don't know if they have a 12 cell available for this unit. I think 4 & 8 are the only one's available.

Just be careful which one you buy, Acer used to provide a 4 cell battery with some of their units and an 8 cell for others, so make sure you get the correct one.

Thanks Venombite I didn't even see the 1690 on the list when I looked the first time. Must be going blind. Also I posted the part numbers off the batteries to see if anyone knew of a generic part number I could use.

    Thanks again.

Most batteries are specific to a system type. In most cases, the only place to get a battery would be directly from the manufacturer or a shop that sells original batteries. 3rd party manufacturers will probably list off the system type or specific manufacturer's battery P/N it's compatible with, so it might be best to serach/ask for the original battery P/N.
