I have decided to purchase an Acer TimelineX laptop. I am considering two models. Either an 1830T or a 3820T.

    • The locally available 1830T has a i3-330UM processor.
    • The locally available 3820T has a i3-350M processor.

I have not been able to find a review of the 1830T with with i3-330UM processor. But I did find one at CNET on a i7-680UM. Battery life on the video playback test was 280 minutes.

The same site has a review of the 3820T with the i3-350M processor. Battery life on the video playback test was 260 minutes.

From these two reviews it does not seem like the 1830T has a substantially longer life than a 3820T, despite the fact that the 3820T has a larger screen and does not have a ultra low voltage processor, and has better performance.

This makes me lean to the 3820T. However, speed is not all that important to me.

My questions is will the Acer 1830T with a i3-330UM processor have a better battery life than the one with a i7-680UM?

    Thanks in advance.

Apparently, they should have same power consumption since both CPUs have same TDP of 18W...

The i7-680UM has a Max TDP of 18W.
The i330M has a Max TDP of 35W.

In your first post you mentioned i3-330 UM, as you can see it...
