Are you also able to get 8 hours battery life with that processor ?

    OK, I'll answer ;)

    Watt usage and batterylife:

    Acer Aspire 3810T-354G32N (SU3500, Intel):
    http://www.notebookjournal.de/tests/inspection/review-acer-aspire-3810t-354g32n-903

    Acer Aspire 4810TG-944G32Mn (SU9400, ATI+Intel):
    http://www.notebookjournal.de/tests/inspection/review-test-acer-aspire-4810tg-ati-4330-921

Acer TravelMate 8371-944G32N Timeline (SU9400, Intel):
    http://www.notebookjournal.de/tests/inspection/review-acer-travelmate-8371-944g32n-timeline-950

Watt usage and batterylife with first two laptops is very similar (3-5 watt, 9min difference). The strange thing is, that 3rd laptop should perform similar good as 2nd one (both SU9400), but it doesn't. (6-7 watt, 41min difference BETWEEN SU9400 and SU9400 models).

    There might be 3 explanations:
    1. Error during testing that gave 2nd laptop higher than it should scores
    2. Error during testing that gave 3nd laptop lower than it should scores
    3. Aspire Timeline (14") has less power hunger components than Travelmate Timeline (13")

P.S. If I remember, I'll compare results of SU3500 Aspire 3810T and SU9400 TravelMate 8371T. Same screen size, same person performing both tests, different CPU. Already got 3810T results, just waiting for 8371T to be published.

    Explanation number 4:
They use different screens and different hard drives.

Also some SU9400 stay cooler than others, meaning less fan activity, meaning less power consumption.

So as long as different hardware groups will be used for Aspires and Travelmates than it's +- explanation nr. 3.
Of course, if they start to use for ex Travelmate HDDs in Aspires, than that might change. Screen will be always different as semi-matte vs glare.

I agree with SU9400. More powerful CPU is less busy than less powerful CPU with same tasks = less heat
