I was wondering if anyone has had any success in running Battlefield 2 on their Acer Aspire AS1410? I know the 4500 can handle it and the CPU as well, albeit on low settings.

I go to start the game and it acts like it is going to run, the screen flashes, and then dumps back to desktop.

    I am running Windows 7 RTM x64.

    Thanks.

    Perhaps it's a directx issue?

I updated to the latest directx. I have video drivers from the 1410 tweaks thread and stock audio drivers, and even tried the realtek audio drivers and no go. I have BF2 patched to the latest 1.5 patch. I know there have been issues if your monitor refresh is no 60Hz, but the 1410 is 60Hz.

I would try it but over 500MB for the demo is too much for my slow connection.

One other thing, I think I remember that game having problems with certain resolutions. You may have to look around to see if there's a file to manually edit to input the widescreen resolution this laptop uses. Good luck, I'm out of ideas!
