Recently done a clean Vista install and installed "NVIDIA chipset drivers" from Acer support site. It's on a 9301AWSmi
I now get as optional updates in Windows, two Nvidia updates.
    1. NVidia NForce Networking Controller (May 2009 published)

    2. NVidia NForce Hyper transport bridge driver update (Oct 2008 published)

Is it wise to accept these or not... I know a lot say never accept driver updates via Windows.
    Thanks

Wrong. I do update a lot of my drivers via Windows Update. XD
But for GPU, no and never ^^!
Moreover, I didn't see the Windows Update of my laptop have NVIDIA update for such a long time.
I think Nvidia would not include the update for its GPU for the mean time because if you want a clean and stable driver, you need to completely remove the previous before install the new driver. If Nvidia update the driver during windows update(without removing old driver completely), it would be silly and you may get an unstable/buggy driver later.

That kind of makes sense... I know how problematic drivers can be. You think best left alone then :)

Neither of those are GPU drivers, but I don't know if they are the latest either.

It is a mistake to download Nvidia driver from Acer.
    In order of updatedness
    laptopvideo2go > Nvidia > Microsoft Updates > Acer

    Agreed. LOL.
Basically, I highly suggest Nvidia official website as the main download centre for Nvidia Driver(official release/genuine).
Laptopvideo2go is a great website for me to test out a lot of beta/newly released drivers. I wonder why laptopvidep2go have the faster update speed compared to nvidia website?
Ohhh yea. And the Guru3D website is faster than the ATi official website too.
I noticed both laptopvideo2go and guru3d updated the drivers faster than the Nvidia or ATi websites about half day or 1 day.

Thanks all. I might wait until I run a full backup (just in case)... always wary of things like this.
