I'm looking for an Intel processor with:

    - As high of a clock speed as possible
    - 1,066 MHz FSB preferred, 800 MHz if nothing else
    - 6 MB L2 cache preferred, 2-3 MB if nothing else

My chipset is a PM965. What is the best processor I can get by Intel that fills the above requirements?

I looked into The T9400 but apparently my chipset isn't compatible.

1066MHz CPUs aka Penryn-Refresh CPUs won't work, and are not compatible with the chipset and BIOS.

    Best CPUs would be the T7700; T7800; T8300; T9300; T9500....

The Merom XE and Penryn XE CPUs might need a more powerful power brick to enable the cooling system to handle the higher TDP of 44W, unless you can undervolt the Extreme CPUs very well.

I'm going for the T8300 personally, but it sounds like you might go for the T9300 or T9500, as they come with 6 MB of cache.
As Andy mentioned, you COULD try the X9000, but your cooling may not be up to the task.

I'm using a T9300 and it works beautifully - performance as sig.

The T9500 will be good too, the price differential was way too much when I was looking - you may be luckier... :)

Where did you buy it? Also, will do upgrade it yourself? I'd like to have picture if so.

Off eBay, through a seller called equippedfishingtackle. $200CAD after S&H.
I'll be doing the upgrade myself, and will be taking photos using my crappy cameraphone during the process.
