My 6920G has a Geforce 9500M GS card in it atm. I have overclocked it as far as it will go and tbh, I'm still not happy.

What is the best compatible upgrade?

Am I right in thinking it's MXM-II and therefore the best card would be a 9600GT DDR3 that is found in the top-spec 8930G Aspires?

Is there anywhere that sells these cards with the Acer BIOS already installed?

I'm guessing a card from another brand laptop or with generic BIOS won't work?

NVIDIA-wise, the 9600M GT is the way to go. Tons of Acer 9600M GT's are loose on eBay.

But for MXM-II, the best cards right now are the ATI HD4650 and HD4670, DDR2 and DDR3, respectively. The former can be bought online for about $300 plus shipping, while the latter, well, can be had with sheer luck right now :D

I should also remind you that the 9600M GT's compatibility with the 6920G is speccy at best. There's been evidence both that it works and that it doesn't.
If you truly want an upgrade, look to the Radeon HD 4650 DDR2.
Or, alternatively, save the money and put it towards flipping your notebook for something with a far better GPU.

    Isn't the 9600M GT PCI-E 2.0?

    The 6920G is only PCI-E 1.0

    The PCI-E 2.0 is actually a screw-up on GPU-Z's part; Intel didn't implement PCI-E 2.0 on its notebook chipsets until the PM55.
And even then, 2.0 parts will work in 1.0 slots at 1.0 speeds.
