Hey, I've read some threads here, but would like to know from a consensus which drivers are best. I'm wiping my hard drive soon and am putting on XP Pro, and want the best drivers for gaming etc.

    Thanks! :D

I ran the compatibility program and it says (in effect), "Sorry, this is not meant for your system".

So has anyone actually put these on a Acer 5672?

I'm running the Omega 3.8 drivers (not the latest 3.9) and it's super rock stable.... even after 3 reinstalls and hours upon hours of gaming.

The default ATI drivers off of Acer's site (or the same drivers that are in your Restore DVD under the \PATCH\VGA\ATI folder (you can stick your restore DVD in your drive and navigate to that folder to load all the default 5672 drivers if you want). Personally I'll take updated and 3rd party drivers but that is just me ;) To each his own.

Also if you want the default background for the Aspire laptop you currently own check out the \PATCH\AS folder on the disk and there are multiple copies of the wallpaper at different resolutions.

Don't use the compatibility checker with ATI, use the direct download link. Both the latest Omegas and the 7.1's have worked equally well for me. In fact, I can't tell the difference at all =\ If you use ATI drivers, install only the drivers, and use a third party tool like ATI Tray Tools to access driver features. CCC is terrible.

What about the cool screensaver that comes with the 5672 that incorporates the camera, any way to import that?

I believe that screensaver is downloadable from Acer's support site.
