Alright, its been quite some time with this laptop, these problems were there from the beginning, but i thought I'll figure out how to solve them.
PROBLEM 1: *big one*
DVD writer does not work.
I have a Slimtype DVD A DS8A1P ATA Device ( according to device manager) and the problem is whenever I try to burn a dvd/cd nothing happens. In the pre-installed software i.e NTI CD/DVD burner, whenever I burn a disc, the moment it has to start to burn it displays an error message that please clean your disc, try a new one or reduce speed. There is only 1 speed available (2x) and disc is perfectly fine. In WMP, it start burning till about 5%, but I know the DVD isnt even spinning, there is no noise, no light in the burner. And after 5% it says burning complete, when I insert the disc back, it is recognized as a blank disk.... No idea what I can do to solve this. This is really bad and help would be *highly* appreciated.
PROBLEM 2:
Webcam not working.
I have Suyin acer crystal eye webcam and I have installed latest drivers. Whenever I open the crystal eye software, it displays an error message saying that camera is busy. Near the camera, the light switches on for about half a sec or 1 sec, blinks and closes, then displays the error message.
Please help me and your help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help and replies........

that sounds annoying
i never use the included software to burn disks i use nero burning rom and imgburn
you need to try other software to see if the drive is faulty
you could also try cleaning your lens in the drive that might help
have you reinstalled the OS since you got the laptop -

Yeah... Try using Acer eRecovery to restore the system to factory default and see what happens.
