Here's the full form of what that blue screen says :
The problem has detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage on your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow this steps:
Check for viruses in your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers.Check your hard drives to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.
run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Looks like you have not added SATA drivers to XP disk

Is your HDD in IDE or AHCI mode? If it's in AHCI mode does the XP cd you're trying to install has the SATA drivers slipstreamed? -
Ok 1st Im not such of a hardware expert so I don't have any idea whether my HD is in IDE or AHCI mode....So please define those first and also tell me how to change mode and which mode should I choose(if possible)!! 2nd here's how my Xp cd looks inside :
Now u tell me if SATA driver is installed in my disc or not cuz I also dont have any idea what a SATA driver is (pls define it too if u can) Besides all 3 cd's are working fine in my desktop but what's wrong with the laptop?? -
IDE/AHCI mode is usually switchable from the BIOS. If you're not running any other OS on this laptop I suggest you enter in the BIOS, change the HDD mode from AHCI to IDE and try to install again.
If you don't know what a SATA driver is and such it will be very hard to proceed if the above doesn't work. If you didn't slipstreamed the driver yourself(now I understand that you don't) then no, your XP CD doesn't have this driver. The driver is NOT needed though if you switch to IDE mode from the BIOS. -
Changed AHCI to IDE and now its happening...............THAANKSSS A LOAD MAN!!!...........
