Hi!
I just did a clean install of my Acer 5101AWLMI with TinyXp removing all partitions, now this has worked fine on all other computers I used it on. But the Acer Laptop comes up with the error message STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78a6528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000), after Windows XP loading screen. I never get to the login or desktop. I have read the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103/en-us, but it doesn't help, how am i supposed to get drivers from the manufacturer installed on the laptop when I can't get to the desktop? I have reinstalled and formated several times and even run Spinrite 6.5 to check for harddisk failes, but to no avail! If anyone knows what is wrong please help!

You could install XP in IDE mode first and load the AHCI drivers later after installation.
-
How do I install XP in IDE mode and what does it mean? Furthermore what are ACHI drivers and where can I find them? Also I don't have the Acer recovery disc here it is at my brothers place, so it would be great if I could find them somewhere else
-
Just go into BIOS and and change SATA mode from AHCI to IDE. When you have installed XP you can either just leave it in IDE mode or google for the AHCI drivers.

I just want to clarify that I can install XP it is when I start it that this error message comes upp. Anyway I went to the BIOS to find this switch(AHCI to IDE) But my access is very limited in the bios I can hardly change anything other than the boot options. I tried getting to a submenu concerning the Harddisk but nothing could get me there.
I have the PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility affront of me and the sections I can choose from are Information, Main, Security, Boot and Exit. Boot has the following options:
1: IDE 0: MATADVD-RAM (CD)
2: IDE 1:
3: SATA: HITACHI HTS (Hard Drive)
4: PCI BEV: Realtek Boot Agent (Don't know what this is)
And all I can do is move these around,
Then I have Main but only things there are system time and different options at boot like quiet boot f12 setup
I can't understand why a format and installation of XP should be so tiresome, usually it is swift as a whistle! -
I have no experience with Phoenix BIOS. If it doesn't have a IDE/AHCI setting then you will have to find the drivers first(check Acer support site for your model) put it on a USB stick, press F3 when it askes you for drivers when starting XP installation and point to the USB stick with the drivers.

I integrated the drivers according to these instructions:
http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-xp/get-bluescreen-after-clean-install-of-xp/180250.html
onto the Xp installation but when I press F6 before installation when it asks for RAID/SATA controllers, I arrive to a screen where it says that the following controllers will be installed for the hard disk or something like that and then "<none>" Shouldn't there at least be something there? Thx for your replies! -
It's been awhile since ive dealt with installing SATA drivers. Last time i did, it was off a floppy and it did show what i was installing. It's been awhile since I've installed a modified version of XP and the only thoughts i have is to check out a program called nlite, if you don't know about it already. That's the program that modifies most of the lite versions of xp that you see for download (I don't know if this how tinyxp was made). From my understanding, this could help with Driver Integration.
Hope this helps at all. Heres the link to nlite http://www.nliteos.com/nlite.html -
Ok it worked! I managed to make a clean install of Windows TinyXP on an Acer Aspire 5101AWLMI which came preloaded with Windows Vista Home Premium.
The problem with the Acer Aspire and most other new notebooks when installing XP is that the SATA drivers used to run the harddisk don't come preloaded onto the XP-disk.
Solution:
The drivers for the SATA must be found and integrated into your XP installation disk.
This is how I did it in steps:
1. First install nLite from the following website www.nliteos.com
2. Download drivers Acer Aspire 5101 Drivers from here http://www.alfacomp.cz/epodpora/acerex~1.zip
3. Insert your WinXP disk
4. Follow the instructions in the zipfile on how to intergrate drivers with winXP disk.
5. Then create an iso with XP files and burn
6. Format and install with disk (Don't need to press F6 when asking for RAID or SATA controllers)
7. Finished!
Did this with TinyXP windows XP untweaked with added repair function
