Is there an addon for internal bluetooth interface? I just bought Acer 1692 WLMI and it is without bluetooth, but I guess the place inside is free as there are other models with bluetooth installed.

I think i read somewhere (but i could be mistaken) that the slot for the bluetooth module is at the battery bay and some guy tried to buy the bluetooth module from acer but acer wouldn't sell it to him.

I was wondering myself if i were to get a pcmia bluetooth card will the bluetooth button at the front work as it is intended for?

Hmmm....not sure...good idea though. Or you can get bluetooth usb key, which probably cost less. Theres no place to put a module under my battery.

only acer aspire 2020 series had the conector under the battery
in the acer aspire 1691 it not there i looked maybe somewere else
the bt module my 2026 cost me £15.
or you coud just call acer and ask them if it has the conector as i did with my acer aspire 2026.

I have a TravelMate 4402WLMi. I have the internal wireless but not the bluetooth.

In an acer, the bluetooth module is a mini-PCI card that has both the bluetooth and the wireless together on the same card.

Here is a picture of one in a review of the Ferrari 4000, which is very similar to the TravelMate I have:

Hope this helps. Now where to get one is another matter....
