Well yes and no. The module that the 1810 uses is the BCM2046 (they sell them for about $20 on ebay) The problem is that MOST laptops use the 8 pin connector or maybe the 4 pin, for some reason acer uses a 6 pin which is pretty much impossible to find as of now.

Edit: I did find two bluetooth modules that include 6 pin connectors, but I have not tried these to see if these are the correct cable.

I've seen a few mentions about this connector issue. It would be great if someone posted a definitive solution.

I'd also love to see some information about this bcm2046 vs. other bluetooth modules (say mini pci-e types and usb dongles).Comparison of performance, range, features, power consumption, anything at all would be great.

So my follow up question would be that if it is possible to install an internal Bluetooth, would the BT power button that lies beside the wireless one work with it?

I'm sure it would work like that.

Thanks for the info. I will wait until someone is able to successfully install such a unit. I am a noobie and do not want to make any costly mistakes.

Apparently someone here found one that works. 5 pin adapter. Doesn't fit in the exact space but still works apparently.
