I got Acer Aspire 5749, i3-2350M, 500 Gb, 2Gb Ram, Win 7 Ultimate.
I've installed the proper drivers from Acer's official site for my Bluetooth but nothing worked. I now my laptop possesses Bluetooth cause at the bottom of my laptop there's a Atheros Bluetooth black sticker right next to the WLAN sticker, "This device contains Bluetooth module...", is written on that Bluetooth sticker.
Everytime I run those softwares, nothing happens after installation, I click on the Bluetooth suite, and nothing happens. I even run it as Admin. but hard luck.
This is the place Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / Aspire / Aspire 5749 where I checked & installed the Bluetooth drivers, checked all of them but nothing worked... Help.

When you go to Mobility Center in control panel does it show up there? Function switch or physical switch to turn on?
If drivers install with no error it means the card is there. Does it show up in device manager? -

Ethernet controller? That is not right if you are installing bluetooth. Right click on that controller with the yellow exclamation in device manager then select properties. Click on the details tab then select Hardware IDs in the pull down. Copy the very top ID that appears in the box and do a search on the internet.
This will at least tell us what kind of a device you are really dealing with. -

That is the only device you show not working/installed. If you do a check for new hardware in device manager and nothing else shows up you either do not have a bluetooth card installed in the laptop or it is not working.

Bluetooth might not be even visible if it's not physically enabled by using Fn+F3.

Sorry- maybe he did notice but I didn't

He has me wondering if there really is a card in his laptop. A sticker means nothing especially if he bought it used. -

You both are right. I didn't get what it meant...
Anyways, I pressed Fn+F3 then "installing devices" pops up on task manager and then Bluetooth radios icons appearon Device manager and when I press it again just to check then the Bluetooth radios disappear
...
This means card is available, right?
What do I do next? How do I connect my 2 Bluetooth cellphones to it?
How can I make it my laptop scan my cellphones for Bluetooth? -
Glad you got it figured out. Here is one guide. There are many more if you do a search. Really don't want to repeat what has already been done.
How To Add Bluetooth Device To Windows 7 Devices And Printers
Good luck! Main thing is activate bluetooth on your phone and make it discoverable. Then select add device on computer and it should find it. -

I checked your link but step 3 doesn't work. My phone's bluetooth is on and set to discoverable...
It says "scanning for devices" and nothing happens... I also brought my other Bluetooth cellphone to check but it's not detected.
Bluetooth not working on Aspire 5749.
