Heya guys.. i was wondering if anybody had boot problems on their acer.. sometimes when i boot up my computer.. i enter my password and it will freeze during the bootup.. no windows loading screen will come on and it will lock up.. no activity with the hard drive.. this will happen around 1 out of 10 times.. could this be a hardware issue or a windows problem?

When you say you enter your password, what do you mean? BIOS/boot password or Windows Logon password?

If it's your boot/bios password, try disabling it and see. If it's your Windows Logon password, it's a good possibility either software/drivers or your OS is the cause of the problem. I'd recommend re-installing the OS manually (not from Acer restore CD's), this way you'd know exactly what is loaded in the system (no excess garbage apps/drivers).

its the power on boot password i have enabled.. i cant really see if its the problems since this problem doesnt occur all the time.. but it would bother me to think that this is a hardware issue

I agree with the re-instal windows from anything but the stupid Acer restore disks.. My laptop has performed way better after I did this. Just steal the drivers you need manualy off the disks. The Touch pad and power managing are the only 2 items I re-installed from Acer the rest I tossed. Bloatware deluxe.
The other advantage is I gained a few GIGs on the Hard drive by not partitioning.
