    Hello,

I'm expecting to get my Timeline 3810T on Wednesday and I'm getting ready to format it the moment that I see it and install Windows 7 Pro x64. However, I don't currently have a 64 bit computer with which to make a bootable USB stick (to install from there), but I do have a USB DVD drive that I could use to install Windows 7. Does anyone know if the 3810T will be able to boot from the external DVD, and has anyone here with this computer used an external DVD to install windows?

Thanks in advance for your help!

(p.s. The alternative, of course, is opening up 64 bit Vista once I get the Timeline, making my USB stick bootable from there, copying over the installation files, and then installing if the DVD drive won't boot, but as you can see, that's a very roundabout way of doing things.)

EDIT: After a simple google search, I found that I can use the 32 bit bootsect.exe with a 64 bit Windows 7 installation image. I set it up and tested the boot on my E1705; it worked, but gave the error that I don't have a 64 bit system (and it's absolutely right!). And just for good measure, I should come clean: my USB stick is actually a 20GB iAudio X5, the best DAP ever made. Sorry, just had to plug that one. It has turned into a Windows 7 install disk now that it's been replaced by a Zune and its battery barely holds a charge.
