    Boot from dvd

    Hi people please bear with me as i am new to pc forums and sorting out my own problems,still in the learning mode, so here goes,i have got an acer aspire 9300,vista premium,2gb ddr2 duel core proccesor and when i first had the laptop made a recovery disc using the acer technology's back up program installed on the laptop,the pc, put the following files on the disc wich was a dvd not cd,
    acer file folders,
    images,
    RCD.DAT, 258 BYTES,
    STCDBOOT.ISO,119 MB,
    1386,
    PATCH,
    SCD.DAT,121 BYTES,
    WINNT.SIF,180 BYTES,What i wish to know is,is there enough infomation on the dvd to do a restore back to factory setting(this is what i thought i was doing at the time)and if i do boot fromdisc this will it effect windows?and finaly is there any instructions(in plain English)that i can follow carefuly,as i have never attempted anything like this before but,wish to learn,oh there is only one disc not 2,many thanks and if you would like to contact me please do any help would be appreciated,Mike

    if you still have the hand book it can all be found in the recovery section.
    or if the pc is still running, start>programmes>acersytem>Acersytems user guide.
    once again under recovery.
    let me know if thats ok or you need more help.
