I was hoping to hear from you regarding the Ferrari and your opinions. I've read some great posts but was wondering in comparison what people thought. Asus seems to make a great machine but build quality and performance as well as service are important.

I'm not keen on spending the extra 600 for the asus but if its significantly better maybe.

I do like the Ferrari's looks great processing power and from what I gather a very nice screen.

    Thanks

Well, they're completely different systems. If there were no money factors, I'd get the W2V on a heartbeat. If you like the styling of the 17" Apple Powerbooks, you'll love the W2V. Full multimedia solutions, tv tuner, subwoofer and a remote. It's the obvious choice. ;)
Also for a 17" notebook, it's weighs about the same as some 15" books.

Really that's the first time I've heard anyone say they're different. I thought the two were very comparable. Gaming computers with strong multi media functions. W2v is more media focused and the whole tv thing could be of interest but no means a reason to buy. I'm more focused on quality lasting computer that I can use for work photos video some and games from time to time. Speed is also important surfing web and when a lot of applications are open.

I see this as a main computer for me to work on travel some (dvd, excel) and for my wife to use for photoshop and music.

Does that make sense? Still hands down w2 or toss up?

Well the W2V is a 17", the Ferrari is a 15.4". Pentium and the other Turion. I think they're different. As for build quality, the Asus is much better hands down. Also the Asus comes with a 2 year Global Warranty, the Acer only 1yr. It also has enough power to run anything you want, including Photoshop & a very sharp screen. The W2V is much more stylish also. Hope that helps.
