Hey guys,
I have an Acer aspire Timeline M3 and basically my fan was making a ridiculous buzzing noise. I stripped her down and found a snapped fan blade inside the fan shroud. That should be that sorted.
Now, onto the next problem.
My laptop was working perfectly up until I took it apart. Then the laptop would not power on without the mains attached. The laptop would turn back off if I unplugged it. I did a lot of changes in the power management tab etc and then I did a system restore... Somehow the system restore 'fixed' the problem. It was running on battery at this point.
Now, the weird part. I tilted my screen back and the laptop shut off. At this point, the laptop would only run on battery if the screen was titled at a certain angle. Regardless of the angle it is still running off mains without any problems.
Now, regardless of the positioning of the screen the laptop won't turn on without mains attached.
I haven't reattached all the body screws etc but any screws to do with the screen are fitted back. I never touched the battery connector (its an internal battery). Only thing I disconnected was the keyboard ribbon cable to give myself more room to work with, the touch pad was still attached (didn't need to unplug it)
I really hope nothing is shorted.![]()
I'm...so...confused
EDIT:
Managed to fix it. Just screwed every screw back in and its working now. Probably whenever I moved the screen something was hitting the motherboard.
Sorry for the unnecessary thread. Mods go ahead and delete.
By far the most bizarre laptop problem I've ever encountered.
