Hi, I'm looking to get a netbook in the next couple of weeks (pay day in fact). I've narrowed it down to the Acer Aspire One (but theres just so many!). I'm having a hard time deciding between the 522 with the C-50 1ghz dual core or the 721 with the K145 1.8ghz single core.

I'll mostly be using it for work (so visual studio 2010 and a few other programming tools). Whilst the 1.8ghz cpu seems the obvious choice, will I lose responsive in windows (multitasking) because of the single core? Is it better to go for the dual core so I can switch between apps easier?

Which I go for, I plan to upgrade it to 4gb of ram anyway (and possibly a faster hard disc).

    Any advice would be appreciated.

There are not too many benchmarks of the K145 but there are some available for K125 which is 1.7GHz and K125 seems to be faster than C-50.
You can use this benchmark table as reference.

Wow, thats ace thanks. I love the way I can select the cpus I'm interested in and compare them!

I also chucked in the N550 to compare... its seems the K125 single core is faster in cinebench than the N550 dual core. I'm only interested in real world apps as thats what I'll be using it for.

Am almost 100% on the Acer Aspire with the K145... especially as it comes with 3GB of ram and a "proper" version of windows 7 (not the starter one).
