    Hi everybody!!

It is the first time I am wrting in this forum, but I have been reading them since last December and they have been really useful to me.

I own an Acer 5672Wlmi (the LX.ATD05.282 one). Last night I was going to burn and ISO file (with Alcohol 120%) and the software suddenly gave me an error report back. I tried to burn with another CD but the drive is not recognizing any CD now (not blank, not audio, not data..). I don't have any problem with DVD-s.

    What the problem can be?

Thank you very much in advance...

Is it the type of problem that Microsoft describe http://forum.notebookreview.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=1928229?

However, before you go into the registry, sometimes you can clear problems by going into Device Manager, finding the DVD / CD ROM drive, right-clicking and selecting uninstall. Then Windows should find it as a new device and reinstall it correctly when you reboot (or you may not need to reboot: right click on the top entry in Device Manager and search for new hardware often works.

Thank you very much for the answer, John.

I already tried to do that, but it is not solved. I am afraid it is a hardware problem, because the computer doesn't boot with a cd either (but it does with a DVD).
    I think I may have to phone Acer.. :( :( :(

I was using Verbatim CD to burn the ISO file....The model of the drive is Pioneer DVR-Ko6(RS), that it is the one without tray. I will phone tomorrow to Acer to see what the tell me. The computer is still under warranty, so I suppose they have to change it. I am little scared because I haven't heard good things about the service here in Spain.
