After browsing around the web, and not finding any useful information on this subject, I went ahead and took apart an Acer Ferrari 3400 which was needing it's CMOS battery replacement. Contrary to what someone said in a forum post around here somewhere, the battery is not fused to the motherboard, but it might as well have been because you almost have to literally take every piece apart in order to reach it.
First of all, the CMOS battery in this laptop is a 3 Volt ML1220.
Secondly, it's fitted in a beige PVC holder much like PCs black PVC holders.
Thirdly, it's underneath the motherboard, on the other side bellow the card reader - next to the wifi card.

Be careful because the battery holder's contacts are very slim and fragile, you risk to break them and then you'll have to solder them very accurately.
Bad news is you actually will have to take it apart piece by piece in order to reach.

I have yet to get a battery and reassemble it. I just hope it still works afterwards :)
