    But Core 2 Extreme isnt much better then Core 2 Duo are you sure that T9600 is better then X9100?

    And think about it hmm the system requirements of COD: Black Ops :

    - OS: Windows Vista/XP/7
    - Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X3 8750 or better
    - Memory: 2GB
    - HDD: 12GB
    - Video: Shader 3.0 or better 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT/ATI Radeon X1950Pro or better
    - Sound: DirectX 9.0c-compatible
    - DirectX: 9.0c

    If you have that much money to spend on a CPU, sell your machine, get a 16F2 barebone and then outfit it.

    Heres the answer the problem is my CPU the video is a PC with a NVIDIA 9600M GT and a Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q8400:

    Call of Duty Black Ops Gameplay Maxed out on ZOGIS 9600GT [HD] - YouTube

    so i want a CPU like this or better for my 6930G the T9600 is better then this? or is better the X9100?

    Edit : i failed he have 9600GT 512MB DDR3, so i think ill buy a Core 2 Duo T9600 and Nvidia 9600GT 512MB DDR3 is it a good choice and will it work in 6930G??

    Edit 2: i think 6930G just support MXM II so the last model MXM II is this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nvidia-Gefo...o_TV_Cards&hash=item3cbb48aa11#ht_2234wt_1172, i think, im sure??

    9600GT is not the same as the 9600M GT.

    Totally different. 9600GT is MUCH stronger.

    9600GT = 64 Shaders, 16 Rops, 256bit GDDR3 all @ 650/1625/900
    9600M GT = 32 Shaders, 8 Rops, 128bit DDR3 all @ 500/1250/800

    As you can see the 9600GT is over twice as powerful as the 9600M GT.

    Your current cpu is a 2ghz c2d with 2mb cache, the e6600 is a 2.4ghz c2d with 4mb cache, i suggest you get a T9600 which is an 2.8ghz 6mb cache cpu + newer revision.

    The x9100 is 266 mhz faster then a t9600 but €200 more expensive, an unreasonable upgrade!

    The 9600M GT DDR2 shouldn't be that far off from a geforce 8600gt (desktop card!). Could try ordering an T9600 and if it does not provide the performance upgrade you want you can get a 9600M DDR3 to get 20-30% additional performance!

    An no the 4570 isn't better

    Best possible GPU upgrade for this notebook (in MXM II factor) would be HD4670 DDR3 or HD4650 DDR3 although as mentioned before these are getting hard to come by.

    Yes but it must be the ddr3 version, a ddr2 part would be considered the same overall as a 9600m GT (give or take depending on the game).

    ATI 4650 DDR3 is faster than GT240M let alone 9600M GT.

    T9600 => €100
    T9900 => €180

    Not worth the money.

    If you are willing to spend €300 just sell the 6930g and try to find a first gen i5-7 with a 5650/5670/5730ish

    The X9100 is identical to the T990 except it has an unlocked multiplier = overclocking possible but i wouldn't expect too much, the 6930g does not have the best cooling really. (i had one myself)

    And where will you get an 4650 ddr3 mxm 2.1 II? It's almost impossible!

    What I meant is the 4670 you linked to is MXM A so it can't be used not that all of them are. The problem is 4670 was much less popular than 4650 so it's very hard to find MXM II unit with DDR3 (there were some with DDR2 a while ago but this kind of defeats the purpose)

    4650 DDR3 is better than 4670 DDR2 as both of these use the same core- 4670 uses higher stock frequencies. DDR2 will severely limit bandwidth and you can't do much about this so 4670 won't be able to use its core potential.
    One the other hand 4650 cab be easily OCed to make the core even faster while still maintaining the advantage of DDR3 bandwidth.

    Just joined this forum. Have had my acer for about 18 months. I am looking at upgrading my graphics card from the 9600m gs 256mb. Most people seem to have gone for the 9600m GT with either 512mb or 1gb from the few forums I have read.

    Is that the best graphics card I can get for this machine? is there a better but not as expensive card? or can I use any mxm II cards?

    The best card you can get is ATI HD4650/4670 followed by nVidia 9600M GT DDR3.
    Looking at 9600M GT pay attention to the memory- 1GB versions tend to be DDR2 while 512MB ones tend to be DDR3- the latter being significantly faster.

    You can most of MXM-II modules with a few exceptions like Toshiba modules that have no on-board BIOS.
    It would be best if you posted a link when you chose the card so someone would confirm if it's likely to work fine or not.

    You forgot the GT 240M DDR3, which is basically drop-in too. Possibly Toshiba's GT 330M can also be macgyvered into the 6930G - the mod is known to work on the 5720G.

    I would rather not do any "magyvering" to upgrade it. Straight drop-ins are far prefered.

    All the good ones mentioned seem to be around a £100, putting me off a bit. Think I will keep ebaying till I find myself a bargain. Just ordered 4gb (2x2gb) of faster ram than the stock ones.

    Think I will wait till after christmas unless I stumble on something awesome before.

    Thanks for all your help guys.

    Hello!

    The ATI HD 4650 1Gb video card on my 6930G has died. It was heated in a computer service once, then it worked for about 2 weeks and now the notebook doesn't start at all (black screen). Unfortunately the label with the Acer product code has become non-readable after heating, so I even cannot tell what the dead video card exactly is.

    According to this list ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/396320-acer-mxm-models-cards.html), one can put in any of MXM-II 9300M GS, 9600M GS, 9600M GT, HD 4650, or 8600M GT. I am not looking for a high-end video, I just want my notebook back to life.

    So the questions are:
    1. Will ATI HD 3650 512MB work in 6930G? Here is the link to the eBay lot: Laptop Notebook PC ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 MXM II 512MB DDR3 VGA Card 4 Acer | eBay
    2. Will it be possible to play games issued in 2008-2010 with moderate settings on this video card (as I used to do with the current one)?
    3. Will it require flashing either system BIOS or video BIOS?

    Thanks!

    UPD: my notebook is Acer Aspire 6930g-644g32mi (T6400 2.0GHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1Gb, RAM 4096 Mb, HDD 320Gb)

    The 3650 is a lot weaker than the 4650. So no, it will not run all games that the 4650 is capable of.

    What do you think, will I be able to finish my Fallout 3 campaign on ATI 3650? :)
    And the main question is still open: can that ATI HD 3650 card from eBay be installed into 6930G?
