Hey, been a few months since iv checked in, laptops been great, it now has a ssd in it and 8gigs of ram. Now im feeling a bit rebellious >_>

...............Can you put a 920xm in one of these? or is the SLBLX 820qm the max it takes?

Screw the heat output >=D. Only reason i ask is cause i can get either for sub 150. ( 820qm for 80 is a hot price, im down if i get conformation from you guys that itll work =p. )

But ya so whats the highest processors the mobo supports 820 or 920? I hear it can get pretty hot but honestly i need something fun to try after i finish all these exams.

Either processor will fit, and it should power on and boot, but it'll run much hotter.

You can combat the heat with good thermal paste and a cooling pad. I'd get the 820QM because it runs a little cooler, but the 920XM is faster.

yes I understand that =p, however just something thats holding me back, does the 4820tg bios support quads? I know the chipsets match but will it work if i pop either of them in?

I had a Dell E6410 that was only sold with dual core i3 and i5. It probably had the same chipset your laptop has. I upgraded it to a 720QM no problem.

Mind you- none of CPUs in question has integrated graphics on board so switchable graphics won't work anymore.
