Ok, this is another topic about how good Acer is at making laptops
I am definitely not buying Acer never ever again!!!!

Acer is piece of s***, all of you who is reading this forum to get an idea how good Acer is
and should you buy it, don't make that mistake!!!

I bought my Acer Aspire 5112Wlmi about 1 year and 8 months ago and it never worked OK!
At the beginning in the first couple of months it was bad BIOS! BSOD's all day long, sound card and modem would just stop working...

I sent it back to Acer thinking it's faulty RAM, but they just flashed BIOS and said it's OK now!
But it kept working terrible, unstable, a couple of BSOD's here and there...

I upgraded my RAM half a year ago thinking it will be over with BSOD's finally! But they didn't stop...

About two months ago I downloaded newest drivers for my laptop and it finally started working good!
Until yesterday when I noticed a CRACK on the left side under the keybord

So I am buying a new laptop as soon as I get some money and I am breaking this Acer peace of sh** into 1.000 little peaces!!!!

i dont think that a thread should be closed because of a user expressing his views about a company............ thats just freedom of speech.........why else should we start a forum

    What are you talking about??

Why should this thread be closed?

Is somebody here an owner of Acer so he can't stand somebody talking negative about Acer?

I've just described my experience with an Acer notebook and it should be heard/read!
So that somebody can be saved from making a BIG mistake with buying an ACER!!

Keep it open so not only forum users can see but Acer just may see it.
but acer are cheap for a reason and need to be treated with care.

and Max is only one user out of millons, so if one laptop has trouble out of a 1000 laptops thats a good score.

i think the thread should stay :D

i've had quite a bit of trouble with this devil i'm using right now, i still like the laptop though, however, for some reason everytime i close my lid i get keyboard marks on my screen and also scratches and marks/cuts keep randomly appearing :l. last time i sent my laptop away it came back with a massive cut along it.
HOW COULD A COMPANY SEND A LAPTOP BACK IN THAT CONDITION?!
    anyways it's still ok.

the rubber things to stop the screen getting too close don't even touch the bottom half of the laptop :l, i think it started when i sent it off and got it back from acer. the marks look like squares basically the same as finger makers but squares instead. (not full squares just the outline)

the bottom one on the metal hinges also it's really hard to understand you ^^
anyway i tightened the screws but the screen is as loose as it was before so i guess it's to do with that screw as it's one of the big ones..

    Acer was never good.

It's kind of obvious on how and why acer sucks.
You dont need to rant on and on about it.

I've sent my acer in TEN TIMES okay.
So dont complain how acer sucks.

Acer's had my laptop more than I've used it.

And because of that, my warranty is now over.
I didnt even use it for a year despite the fact that it's AT acer right now at the time of this post.

well, just to shed a little hope to Acer owners out there, my family bought 3 of the black friday W@l-M@rt specials, Aspire 5135-2153. After 5 months we have had only 1 problem, a harddrive developed bad sectors (probably due to a I/O {idiot operator} who likes to pound on the laptop when it can't read his mind). Acer promptly sent out a replacement HDD which i recieved 2 days after calling about the issue. Yeah, they are cheap laptops, but we bought them for just that reason. Price..
overall i'm extreemly happy with what i got for my money. I'm sorry some people have had such horrible experiences and i hope they are able to get some satisfactiory resolution to thier problems. So far Acer'stech support has been good to me, but then agian i knew what my issue was and had proof of my problem to email to them before i ever called. My heart goes out to anyone who has to send their laptop off for in-shop repair.

just my three cents, or whatever it's worth,
    bigozone

And what would you say if I tell you that my laptop has NEVER been out of my house, except for the time I sent it to Acer for repair/BIOS flash?
And a couple of times I've sent it for Windows reinstall!

It's been on my table for 2 years, and on my bed, etc...

How can it be treated better than that? Maybe by not using it at all! ;)
