Can a 1920x1080 resolution be reduced to 1366x768 in 6930/6920?

Hi, everybody. Can someone please tell all available screen resolutions on the full hd version (1920x1080) of their 6930/6920? I'd like to know if it can be reduced to 1366x768 before I buy the notebook so I can have a true pixel for pixel reproduction when connected to my HD ready plasma. I know I could just buy the lower resolution version of this notebook but I've read that 768 vertical pixels is not enough for this 16" display, too much scrolling it seems and one review even said that graphics on the screen look almost jagged when compared side by side to a notebook with a higher resolution. Thanks.

Yes on windows right click and select personalise. Then their should be a screen resolution option.

Connect your external display and click the second monitor icon, then you will need to set this to 1366 x 768. now when connected to the monitor it will automatically be set to the right resolution.

Thats if it doesn't auto detect.

    1920x1080
    1600x1024
    1400x1050
    1360x768
    1280x1024
    1280x960
    1280x800
    1280x768
    1280x720
    1152x864
    1024x768
    800x600

Some strange resolutions there - this is on my 6935g which should be the same as the other models in the gemstone range. And the 1360x768 is not a typing error, I would have expected it to be 1366x768 but it is definitely 1360x768.

The GPU is the 9600M GT(DDR3).

Excellent, charliepie! Thank you so much! This information is rather interesting. It means that I cannot have a pixel per pixel picture reproduction with Full HD version of 6930 when connected to my HD ready plasma. I really don't know why Acer left out those six horizontal pixels.

On the other hand, now the lower resolution version of 6930 looks more interesting as it supports HD ready 1366 x 768 resolution of my plasma TV.

    Thanks to all who contributed.

I'm sure there used to be a program whose name I can't remember that would let you set a custom resolution which may be the answer to your problem.

I have a sony fw11e as well whose native resolution is 1600x900 which is just about right, thought I'd check the other available ones just for interest and here they are:-

    1600x900
    1440x900
    1360x768
    1280x768
    1024x768
    800x600

interesting that it also does 1360x768, perhaps this is close enough??

You can of course manually set a custom res using the nvidea(or ati probably) control panel - silly me! I have now set my 6935g to 1600x900 as that is much better then the native res if not quite as sharp at least it is readable :)

You don't have to do this if you only wnat bigger font size..
It's better to change the font dpi size to 120%.

My 6930G doesn't allow for this custom resolution of 1600 x 900. When I set it in Nvidia control panel, it says that it will be tested and than gives a message that the test didn't succeed and returns to my native resolution.

Other resolution than the native one will look horrible, on LCD screens. They are not CRTs, they don't have ray guns that draws any resolution like you want.
