A Centrino notebook with a Radeon X600 Mobility, a DVD-RW drive, and a CrystalBrite screen for $1288 Canadian? Now, this doesn't make sense.

I'm wondering the same thing. Pacific Notebooks also has the 1690 for less than $1300CDN. The only thing that I can think of is that the specs are just plain wrong. Someone has already posted a message saying that in the US, the 1690 comes with integrated graphics. If that's also true for us Canucks, then this price all of a sudden makes a lot more sense.
Also, danbrow bought the 1694, which comes with X700 graphics, but it was just over $1900CDN - that, too, makes sense price-wise.
$1288 for a notebook with x600? No way. It wouldn't be the first time that a vendor's website had the wrong specs. Heck, check out Futureshop; they're wrong ALL the time. You can't really blame them, though. The people typing in those specs (as well as the majority of the sales staff) probably have no idea what they're talking out. -
I agree with stimp1000, it's gotta be a case of specs being mistyped. I'd email/call them and ask them to confirm the specs, I think you'll find they pull an "oops, sorry"
