    I have 2x8GB DDR3 SODIMM, and I am considering the Aspire V3-571.
My question is, can the Aspire V3-571 support 16GB RAM? The specifications seem to say that it can only support up to 8GB, but I am having a hard time figuring out why this is the case.

The reason I'm confused is because the model I'm looking at (V3-571-9808) lists an 8GB max on the retailer webpage, whereas some models, like the V3-571-9832 lists a maximum of 16GB on the Acer webpage.
