    i have a acer aspire 3002lci 1.8ghz AMD semperon i want to upgrade to at least a 2.2ghz processor but im not sure if the motherboard will handle it.

    IF you can, you will need to get a AMD Turion 64 MK-xx(I don't remember the number).

    The turion 64 MK-xx series won't work in the 3002lci, as the aspire 3000 series uses the older generation socket (754) semprons and turions. What would be need is one of the MT-xx series of turion 64(lancaster) or 2600+ or higher series of semprons with socket 754 connection. AFAIK you can go from the sempron to a turion without any problems as long as they both use the same socket. You can see the spec sheet for the aspire 3000 series here :)
